We are seeking a highly organised and professional individual to provide comprehensive administrative and examination support within the school. The role combines general administrative duties (3 days a week) with responsibility for managing all internal and external examinations (1 day a week) in line with regulatory requirements.

As Administration Assistant your key responsibilities include preparing and typing documents, maintaining pupil records, filing, photocopying, and supporting the school’s administrative systems. The postholder will act as a first point of contact for visitors, manage phone calls, emails and post, and liaise effectively with staff, parents, external agencies and examination boards.

As Examinations Officer, the successful candidate will process exam entries, coordinate with subject leads, senior leaders and feeder schools, and oversee coursework submissions. They will organise examination timetables, invigilation and access arrangements in collaboration with the SENDCo, ensuring the secure handling of papers, appropriate preparation of exam rooms, and accurate distribution of results and certificates. They will also manage appeals and special considerations in accordance with examination regulations.

About the Academy

Glendinning Academy is a 120 place Special School for children aged from 7 to 16 with social interaction and communication needs including those on the Autism Spectrum. The academy opened in 2019 and will have grown to 120 pupils and associated staff by Sep 2022.

Pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans with primary needs of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Glendinning Academy provides a personalised supportive environment. Pupils have opportunities to use outdoor learning to access the National Curriculum, developing communication, interaction, social and emotional skills.  Working in partnership with pupils, and their parents/carers the academy supports pupils academically and in their journey to independence.  These partnerships play a vital role in ensuring pupils enjoy, succeed and achieve.

Who We Are

Wave are an established and successful Multi Academy Trust, comprising of Alternative Provision Academies (APAs), Medical Academies (including Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s child and adolescent mental health unit ‘Sowenna’) and a Special Academy.
